If you are planning to bring your family to live with you in the UAE, you need to apply for a family visa. This visa allows your spouse, children, and sometimes parents to legally live with you in the country. Below, I have shared key details about the cost, eligibility, and application steps.

Obtaining a UAE family visa is a simple process if you meet the salary and document requirements. It helps expats live comfortably with their loved ones and at the same time enjoy life in the Emirates.

Requirements

  • The sponsor must have a valid UAE residency visa.
  • Minimum salary requirement (usually AED 4,000 or AED 3,000 + residence).
  • Marriage certificate certified by UAE authorities.
  • Birth certificates of children (certified).
  • Valid passports and photos of family members.
  • Medical fitness tests for adults.

Cost

  • The cost may vary depending on the emirate and visa duration. On average, you can expect:
  • Entry Permit: AED 500 – AED 1,200
  • Change of Status: AED 500 – AED 700
  • Medical and Emirates ID: AED 1,000 – AED 1,500
  • Stamping Fee: AED 500 – AED 800
  • Overall, the process can cost between AED 3,000 and AED 4,500 for one family member.

Process

  • Collect the required documents.
  • Apply for an entry permit through the immigration department or typing center.
  • Once the entry permit is issued, complete the medical examination and Emirates ID application.
  • Submit all documents for visa stamping in the passport.
