The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced significant changes in 2023, including updated marking-schemes and increased number of exams candidates can take. CBSE also discontinued overall division system for Class 10 and 12 students, and will not disclose the percentage of marks. The responsibility for calculating percentages lies with admitting institutes or employers. CBSE revised assessments for the academic session 2023-24 to include more competency-based questions, reducing emphasis on short and long-answer questions. CBSE class 10 assessments will have 50% competency-based questions, while class 12 assessments will have 40% competency-based questions.
