The Vishwa Hindi Diwas, celebrated on January 10th, commemorates the first time Hindi was spoken in the United Nations General Assembly in 1949. It is dedicated to Hindi speakers worldwide and promotes the language and culture it represents. Various events are held throughout the day to promote Hindi. Leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Narendra Modi, and Sushma Swaraj have played significant roles in promoting Hindi on the world stage through their speeches and diplomatic engagements.
