West Bengal's Education Minister Bratya Basu announced a centralised admission process for undergraduate courses in state-run colleges through a common website starting on June 24. This process aims to prevent one student from taking multiple admissions and leaving seats vacant. The system will offer one seat at a time based on results, with opportunities for better options if vacancies arise. Any class 12 pass-out nationwide can apply for up to 25 courses, with a system-generated merit list. Some colleges like Presidency University and Jadavpur University are exempt from this system.
