The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced significant changes to the Class 12 Curriculum for the academic session 2024-25. In an effort to better align with current job market demands, the board is discontinuing Punjabi, Gujarati, and French due to low student enrollment, while introducing three new vocational subjects: Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFIV), Food Processing (FDPV), and Telecom (TELV). Additionally, three new optional subjects, Applied Artificial Intelligence (APAI), Cyber Security (CBST), and Science of Well Being (SOWB), have been introduced.
