Seeking recognition of same-sex marriages, the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights has submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court. The affidavit said same-sex couples should be allowed to adopt children. The next hearing is on April 18.

The Supreme Court warned the Defence Ministry of contempt for the continuing allegations of discrimination in the promotion of women Army officers.

The Supreme Court has come down hard on illegal and forced abortions in Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. It has directed the Ministry of Health and Family to implement the guidelines within three months.

The Bombay High Court has quashed an FIR against an activist protesting against tree felling in Aarey Colony . The Court said citizens have a democratic right to protest.
