“Our university is one of the most multidisciplinary in Russia,” said Victor Koksharov, the UrFU rector. – This is confirmed by the number of subject rankings in which we have participated, demonstrating success in materials science, where we have a strong scientific school, and a number of other areas: both basic and applied engineering.

As in the previous year, the medal winners were Lomonosov Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University and the National Research University “Higher School of Economics”.

The RAEX agency has published the subject rankings of Russian universities – the lists of the best universities included 164 higher education institutions from 42 regions of Russia.

The study uses three sets of indicators that traditionally appear in all rankings – the “Three missions of the university,” which include education, science and society. The subject ratings take into account the specifics of each field – the set of indicators and their values differ depending on the subject. For example, for science and engineering fields, “science” is 35%, while for social sciences and humanities it is 25%.
