Ural Federal University Promotes International Educational Programs in Pakistan

From May 13 to 19, the representatives of UrFU Department of International Educational Programs visited the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to promote UrFU English-language programs. visited the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to promote UrFU English-language programs. In Karachi (Pakistan) a meeting was organized with the representative of the Russian House in Pakistan and the director of the agency Beecons International, where the cooperation between the universities of Pakistan and the UrFU was discussed.

On May 15, the delegation visited the city of Lahore. At the invitation of the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Dr. Sajat Mubin, they visited the Institute of Engineering and Technology. The staff members got to know the infrastructure of the university. They also met with the Deans of the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering to discuss the prospects of further cooperation.

The delegation also visited the Lahore Press Club, which has opened a Russian language course for its employees and their families. This is an important step in promoting cultural and educational exchanges between Pakistan and Russia. This initiative will have a positive impact on strengthening international relations between the two nations, as well as promoting mutual understanding and cooperation. The journalistic community in Pakistan has also shown great interest in the Russian language and culture.

The UrFU delegation also attended an official ceremony at the Association of Russian and CIS University graduates.

In addition, on May 17 and 18, the delegation of the UrFU visited its partner university – GIFT University in Gujranwala (Punjab province). Meetings were held with the top management represented by Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Qureshi and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Mohammad Anwar Dar. Heads of faculties such as School of Business, Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Architecture and Design also attended the meetings.

During the meetings the issues of possible interaction in the form of student and teacher exchange, joint webinars and conferences, open lectures, as well as participation of GIFT University students in the project “Summer University 2023” were discussed. The organization of a Russian as a foreign language course for the employees and students of the university was one of the priorities.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day employees of the Ural Federal University actively participated in a conference on women’s rights.
