Ural Federal University Hosts Seminar on Technology Transfer Strategies

Innovators of the Ural Federal University held a seminar called “Modern Mechanisms and Practices of Commercialization and Technology Transfer”.

The event was joined by Alexander Podkovyrov, Head of the MBA specialization “Management of Entrepreneurial Projects” at MIRBIS Business School, Andrey Laenko, Deputy Head of the Project Office of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), Kirill Melnikov, Director of the Technology Transfer Center of UrFU, Olga Mikhalevich, an international expert on certification of products and management systems, technical expert of RusAccreditation (Federal Accreditation Service), representatives of leading corporations, including Gazpromneft-Industrial Innovations, “Silovye machiny” PJSC, and “UMMC” OJSC.

It should be noted that it is not by chance that the seminar was held on the site of the university’s innovation infrastructure: UrFU is in the top 3 of Rospatent’s ranking of inventive activity. Moreover, today most of the inventors’ applications are for intellectual property objects under the Priority-2030 program.

“The seminar aimed to involve authors of inventions in the process of commercialization and technology transfer, project development. We also want to incorporate young scientists into our technological entrepreneurship projects, which are formed based on intellectual property objects. Our industrial partners are interested in projects at a high stage of readiness: the university has the opportunity to invest in them to bring them to a level where enterprises can effectively use the developments,” said , Director of the Technology Transfer Center of UrFU.
