Applications are still being accepted for the popular contest “Student Startup”, which is organized by the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations within the framework of the federal project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform”. It is worth noting that UrFU takes an active part in the realization of the platform’s areas of work.
Substantial support for 1 million rubles awaits the winners’ innovative projects; the grant implementation period is 12 months.
Project topics include digital technologies; resource-saving energy; new materials and chemical technologies; new devices and production technologies; biotechnology; medicine and health; and creative industries.
“To develop the initial version of a product, create a prototype, and build your company, you need to raise resources. Youth startups are often stalled by the lack of various support options from universities. Until recently, this was the case. As a rule, technology leaders need various kinds of help at this stage – financial, expert, etc. For example, feedback from the market. Simply put, for an idea with the potential to turn into a successful startup, the enthusiasm of technology leaders alone is not enough. Before the University Technology Entrepreneurship Platform, aspiring startups often had to develop their projects by trial and error. Now, thanks to the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform and the Student Startup competition, talented young people have a real chance to take the first steps in bringing their developments to life and creating startups,” explained Elena Bespamyatnykh, Head of the UrFU Center for Educational Technologies and Staffing Support for Innovative Activities.
