Clark and 33 additional awardees received the award at the ACS Fall Meeting in Denver on August 20. The largest scientific society in the world, the ACS has over 200,000 members representing 192 countries. Established in 2008, the ACS Fellows Program was created to recognize members for outstanding achievements in and contributions to science, the profession and the Society.

At the ACS meeting, Clark also received the from the , and presented a lecture, “The 91-R strain of Drosophila melanogaster: A model for DDT resistance and environmental consequences.”
