The University Grants Commission (UGC) in India has announced that the curriculum for the National Eligibility Test (NET) will be revised. The UGC will form an expert committee to undertake this exercise. Candidates will be given sufficient time to adapt to the new syllabus. The NET is a mandatory examination for individuals aspiring to pursue teaching positions in higher education. The UGC-NET examination is held twice a year in various subjects. The revision of the syllabus aims to align with the multidisciplinary curricula and holistic education promoted by the National Education Policy (NEP).
