UGC NET 2024 Exam Conducted on Aug 21 Cancelled at Varanasi Test Centre Due to Technical Glitch

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency(NTA) has cancelled the UGC NET June 2024 examination conducted on Wednesday, August 21 at Dr. Ghanshyam Singh College of Education, Varanasi. As per the official notice, NTA cancelled the second shift examination due to technical glitches. A re-examination will be conducted for all the candidates allotted to the same centre. The testing agency will release a separate public notice consisting of information such as the date, time, and venue of the competitive examination.

“Due to technical glitches occurred during the examination process at Dr. Ghanshyam Singh College of Education, Varanasi of UGC – NET June 2024 (Rescheduled), examination held on 21.08.2024 (Shift – II) in CBT mode could not be conducted,” reads the official statement. Check Notice .

It is to be noted that the UGC NET 2024 examination was scheduled to be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for 83 subjects at different cities across the country from August 21 to September 4, 2024. The examination was scheduled to be held in two shifts. The first shift was scheduled to begin from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The second shift was scheduled to commence from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The examination was held for (i) ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’, (ii) ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.’ and (iii) ‘admission to Ph.D. only’.
