The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the validity of MPhil programs in clinical psychology and psychiatric social work until 2025-2026, deviating from regulations established in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. degree) Regulations 2022. Despite warnings, the West Bengal government remains committed to recognizing the MPhil degree.
