Dehradun: Under the visionary leadership of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the two-day AADI Vigyan Mahotsav, organized by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), began today within its premises. The festival was inaugurated by MLA Dharampur, Vinod Chamoli, amidst enthusiastic participation from students and dignitaries.
The program brought together over 80 students from 18 tribal schools across the region, providing them with a platform to showcase innovative science models and participate in engaging activities such as Science Shows, Pavilion Workshops, and Quizzes.
A key highlight of the mahotsav is its interactive Science Shows, including Science of Air, Chemical Mania, and Science is Magic, aimed at making science fascinating and accessible for students. Stalls featuring cutting-edge science exhibits like sensors, robotics, and gravity-based demonstrations have also drawn significant attention.
During the program, several workshops are also being conducted to empower students to create practical scientific tools such as telescopes, magic boxes, and LED greeting cards, fostering a hands-on approach to learning.
Speaking at the inauguration, S. S. Tolia, Additional Secretary to Chief Minister, Uttarakhand, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “The AADI Vigyan Mahotsav is not just a celebration of science but a testament to the immense potential of our tribal students. By blending creativity with scientific exploration, we aim to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.”
TRI Uttarakhand Coordinator Rajeev Kumar Solanki added, “This initiative provides a unique platform for tribal students to explore, innovate, and develop their scientific aptitude. Their participation and enthusiasm reaffirm our belief in their extraordinary capabilities.”
The Mahotsav also witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries, including Additional Director Yogendra Rawat, who commended the students’ efforts and TRI’s dedication to promoting scientific learning among tribal communities.
The AADI Vigyan Mahotsav continues tomorrow with more interactive activities, fostering curiosity, creativity, and innovation among tribal students, reflecting the state’s commitment to nurturing young scientific minds.
