Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, has released a notification for the entrance examination for admissions into Class 8 in the RIMC Dehradun. Boys and Girls who belonging to Telangana State are only eligible to apply.

RIMC Entrance Exam Selection Process​


The selection process for RIMC admission is based on a rigorous written test, viva voce, and medical examination. The written exam will consist of three papers, namely Mathematics (200 marks), General Knowledge (75 marks), and English (125 marks).

The viva voce (50 marks) will be conducted for the candidates who qualify the written test. The combined written test and viva voce will be allotted a total of 450 marks, and the minimum pass mark should be 50%. The medical examination will be conducted for the candidates who qualify in both the written test and viva voce.

RIMC (Rashtriya Indian Military College), Deharadun: The Rashtriya Indian Military College is an Inter-Services Institution and a Category-A establishment of the Ministry of Defence.

The college was established in 1922 with the primary aim of preparing the students for entry into Defence Services and to provide a quality all-round education to young boys.

Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun has invited applications for admission into 8th class. Students who are studying in or have passed class 7th are eligible to apply.

The application forms can be obtained directly from the RIMC Dehradun and the filled-in application should reach the Telangana State Public Service Commission’s office. The notification and other details are available on the website .

The entrance examination will be conducted on notified dates at selected centres in India. Boys and Girls are eligible for the admission. The examination will include both, written and viva-voce test followed by a medical examination

TSPSC RIMC Entrance Exam Eligibility​


At the time of admission to RIMC, the boy should either be studying in Class 7 or passed Class 7 from any recognized School exclusively for the state of Telangana consists of 33 Districts only. They should not be less than 11 1/2 years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years.

TSPSC RIMC Entrance Exam Application Form​


Application Form with Prospectus (Method 1) : The prospectus-Cum-application form and booklet of old question papers can be obtained by Speed post by online fee payment at the rimc.gov.in through SBI Collect. The fee is Rs.600/- for General candidates and Rs.555 for SC/ST candidates.

The prospectus and Previous Question Papers (Method 2): Application form along with prospectus and old Question Papers can also be had from Assistant Secretary (Exams), T.S. Public Service Commission, Hyderabad in person on payment of Rs.600/- for General candidates and Rs.555 for SC/ ST candidates along with Caste Certificate in the shape of Demand Draft payable at State Bank of India, Tel Bhavan Branch (Code No. 01576), Dehra dun obtained in favour of The Commandant, R.I.M.C., Dehradun.

Candidates desirous of obtaining application form and prospectus by post should enclose a self addressed cover size 30 x 25 Cm. duly affixing postal stamps worth of Rs. 100/-(Rupees One Hundred only) along with Demand Draft and send the requisition.

RIMC Fee: Fees at RIMC is heavily subsidized by the Central Government. The Fee is at present Rs. 42,000/- per year. It may increase from time to time. At the time of entry a Security Deposit of Rs.20,000/- is to be made. This is refunded when the boy passes out.

Scholarships: Scholarships are granted by various State Governments to meritorious students. The amount of scholarships varies from state to state and is in between Rs.10,000/- to Rs.20,000/- is to be made. Continuation of Scholarship once granted by the state is subject to merit, income and discipline of the cadet and his performance during the year.

TSPSC RIMS Entrance Exam Pattern​


Scheme of Examination: The examination comprises of (a) Written Examination: The written part of the examination will consist of three papers, namely, English (10:00-12:00hrs) and Mathematics (14:00-15:30 hrs) and General Knowledge paper (10:00-11:00hrs) on the notified. Minimum pass marks in each paper are 50%.

(b) Viva Voce. The Interview date shall be on the notified date, and interview will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam, Minimum pass marks in the interview are 50% and the date, venue for interview will be intimated to them by respective States. Intelligence and personality of the candidates will be tested in the interview.

(c) Medical Examination. All the candidates qualified after the interview will undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals and only those candidates found medically fit will be considered for selection and admission to the RIMC.

The medical examination of the candidates forms only a part of the system of selection and does not imply the final selection.

RIMC Entrance Exam Application Process​


Candidates will have to send their application form with two passport size photograph, domicile certificate of the candidate, birth certificate issued by municipal corporation/ gram panchayat, SC/ ST certificate from principal of the school in original with photograph on it attested stating the date of birth an in which class he is studying.

The application form with the documents should reach the respective state government of which their parents/ guardians are domicile of, before the deadline. Don’t send the application to RIMC office.

Filled in application forms along with necessary certificates in duplicate should be sent to the Assistant Secretary (Exams), TS. Public Service Commission, Prathibha Bhavan, Besides Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, Hyderabad 500 103.

While submitting the application, the following documents should be enclosed along with the application.

1. Two Copies of Original Application obtained from RIMC or from O/o. TSPSC., Hyderabad.
2. There are (3) Passport size photos signed by the Candidates (Two (2) Photographs to be paste on the application and one extra.)
3. Two Copies of Birth Certificate from school or Municipal records showing the name of the candidates.
4. Two Copies of a study certificate from the school.
5. Candidates belonging to SC & ST should enclose Community Certificate issued by TAHSILDHAR.
6. State of Domicile certificate to be enclosed Two (2) Copies.

7. One self-addressed cover affixing postal stamps for Rs.5/- The filled in application form along with requisite certificates should be sent to the ASST. SECRETARY (EXAMS), TS PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, PRATHIBA BHAVAN, M.J. ROAD, BESIDE GANDHI BHAVAN, NAMPALLY, HYDERABAD ON OR BEFORE the deadline.

TSPSC RIMC Entrance Exam Offline Apply​


RIMC Dehradun will send the Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers by seed post to students who have paid application fee through online mode at the official website, rimc.gov.in. Candidates can obtain the Prospectus from the TSPSC Office. To submit application form follow the given steps.
