Application are invited from candidates who have passed SSC or its equivalent recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, TS, Hyderabad (or) appearing to appear “Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test or TS POLYCET” for seeking admission into following courses
(A) Polytechnic Diploma Courses: Diploma Courses in Engineering and Non- Engineering/ Technology offered at Polytechnics/ Institutions (including Govt./Aided and Unaided polytechnics/ Institutions and 2nd shift Polytechnics running in Private Engineering Colleges) in Telangana State,
B) Horticulture Diploma Courses: Horticulture Courses offered by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTSHU),
(C) Polytechnic Agriculture Diploma Courses: Agricultural courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU),
(D) Polytechnic Veterinary Diploma Courses: Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Courses offered by PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRWU).
The process of admissions to the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (PolyCET) will be conducted for admissions in polytechnic colleges will start in June by the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET).
To this end, the Polycet schedule has been released. Students can apply without a fine until June 30. There will be a polycet exam on the notified date.

G.O.Rt.No.84, Dated: 20-04-2015: Government of Telangana State, Finance Department, Technical Education – Conduct of Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) separately for the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for admission into Polytechnics and other Technological Institutions in the State offering Engineering and Non-Engineering Courses for the academic year – Orders – Issued.
ORDER: Section 95 of the A.P. Reorganisation Act, 2014, in respect of admission quotas reads as follows: “In order to ensure equal opportunities for quality higher education to all students in the successor States,
the existing admission quotas in all Government or Private, aided or unaided, institutions of higher, technical and medical education in so far as it is provided under article 371 D of the Constitution, shall continue as such for a period of ten years during which the existing common admission process shall continue”.
2. In the reference 2nd read above, the Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad has stated that the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad (SBTET) is the agency for conducting the POLYCET exam for admission into Polytechnics of both the States and is included in the X Schedule of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
She further requested for clarification on the continuation of 371D of the Presidential Order 1974, with regard to Statewide institutions and Statewide courses, which are included in the Presidential Order but are not in the Xth Schedule.
3. In the letter 3rd read above, the Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad & Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad further informed that a Resolution was made in the Meeting held on the notified between the Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana States and
the Additional Secretary of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, wherein it was agreed to conduct the POLYCET examination separately for the States of Andhra Pradesh and
Telangana and to maintain the Presidential Orders pertaining to the sharing of seats in the ratio of 42:36:22 in Andhra University, Osmania University, Sri Venkateshwara University regions for the Courses offered in the Statewide Institutions.
4. The Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad and Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad has requested the Government in the reference 4th read above, to permit them to issue Notification with a Schedule to conduct the POLYCET separately for the Telangana State on the date proposed from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM across the State and confirm that the ratio of 42:36:22 is followed by both Andhra Pradesh Government and Telangana State Government in Statewide Institutions in their jurisdictions.
5. After careful examination of the matter, the Government hereby permit the Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training and Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad to conduct the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) examination, separately for the State of Telangana for admissions into Polytechnics and
other Technical Institutions in the State offering Engineering and Non-Engineering Courses for the academic year and to maintain the Presidential Orders pertaining to sharing of seats in the ratio of 42:36:22 in Andhra University, Osmania University and Sri Venkateshwara University regions for the Courses offered in the State-wide Institutions. The schedule of POLYCET mentioned in the annexure is appended to this order.
6. The Chairman, State Board of Technical Education and Training and Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad shall take further necessary action in the matter accordingly.
