The Telangana state government has taken a couple of decisions regarding Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPS). The government increased the current consolidated salary of Rs 15,000 per month for JPS to Rs. 28,719. However, the government has extended the three-year contract period, previously considered as a probationary period, to four years. The order that these decisions would come into effect from the 1st of July month.
The notification said that JPSs selected in the examination conducted for the recruitment of 9,355 Panchayat Secretary posts on August 31, 2018, will have a three-year contract period, which will now be extended to four years.

Government of Telangana, Office of the Commissioner Panchayat Raj and Rural Employment has given Memo orders.26 on 18-08-2021 for Enhancement of monthly consolidated remuneration of the Junior Panchayat Secretaries from Rs.15,000/- to Rs.28,719/- per month with the prospective effect and extension of agreement period of Junior Panchayat Secretaries from (3) years to (4) years.
According to Memo.26, “Attention of all the Chief Executive Officer’s and the District Panchayat Officer’s in the state is invited to the reference of GO.Ms.No.26, dated: 15.07.2021. They are informed that the Government, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (MPP & ZPP ADMN.) Department, has enhanced the monthly consolidated remuneration from Rs.15,000/- to Rs.28,7i9/- per head to all the Junior Panchayat Secretaries with effect from July 2021.
In view Of the above, the Chief Executive Officers and the District Panchayat Officers In the State are requested to ensure that minimum time scale shall be paid as per GO.Ms.NO.26, dt.15.07.2021 to all the Junior Panchayat Secretaries and direct the MPDO’s to prefer the bills with new pay only. Any deviation In this regard will be viewed Seriously.”
