Eligibility criteria for D.Ed Admissions, G.O.Rt.No.404, Dated: 03-07-2009: Government of Andhra Pradesh, Education Department, School Education Department – Amendments to Rules relating to admission of students into Elementary Teacher Training Institutes/District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) through Common Entrance Test, Rules 2007 – Orders – Issued.

ORDER:
In the reference 1st read above, Government has issued orders relating to rules for admission of candidates into D.Ed course. According to rule 4 (v) (b), the minimum percentage of marks required to get in the qualifying examination required for admission of candidates into D.Ed course is as follows:

4. Eligibility criteria for Admission:

(v) Educational Qualifications:

(a) The candidates who have passed or appeared for the 10+2 Examination (Qualifying Exam) or it’s equivalent as decided by the Entrance Test Committee are eligible to appear for the entrance test. But they should have passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

(b) The Candidates should have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination. The minimum percentage of marks in the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and Physically challenged candidates shall, however, be 40%. The candidates who passed Intermediate Examination with vocational courses are not eligible for appearing.

2. According to NCTE norms, the minimum percentage of marks to get in the qualifying examination required for admission of candidates into D.Ed course is as follows:

3.2 Eligibility
3.2.2 Candidates with at least 50% marks in the senior secondary examination (+2) or its equivalent are eligible for admission.

The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable. There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/OBC and other categories of candidates.

3. In the reference 2nd read above, the Director of School Education, A.P. Hyderabad has submitted proposals for the reduction of a minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination for admission of students into D.Ed course.

4. Government after careful examination of the proposal hereby reduces the minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination required for admission into the D.Ed course in respect of BCs to 45%.

5. The following notification shall be published in the extra-ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette. NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 3 and 15 of the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1983 (Andhra Pradesh Act 5 of 1983), the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby issue the following amendment to rules for admission of students into Elementary Teacher Training Institutes/ District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) through Common Entrance Test issued in G.O.Rt.No.559, Education (SE-TRG) Department, Dated: 22-8-2007. AMENDMENT

Rule 4 (v) (b) is substituted as follows,-
“(b) The Candidates should have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate in the qualifying examination. The minimum percentage of marks in the case of BCs be 45%. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and Physically challenged candidates shall, however, be 40%. The candidates who passed Intermediate Examination with vocational courses are not eligible for appearing.” AMENDMENT to GO.63 DEECET Admission Rules – New

GO.63 Rule4(iii) (b) is substituted as follows:-
The candidates should have secured 50% of marks in aggregate in the Qualifying Examination for appearing at the DEECET. The minimum percentage of marks in the case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Challenged candidates shall, however, be 45%. The Candidates who passed Intermediate with Vocational Courses are not eligible for appearing.

5. The Director of School Education, A.P. Hyderabad is requested to take appropriate action in the matter.

DEECET Eligibility criteria for D.Ed Admissions

1. Candidate should be of Indian Nationality.
2. The candidate should satisfy Local/Non-Local Status requirements as laid down in the A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.
3. Candidate should have obtained a rank in DEECET 2014 and should satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed.
4. Age Limit:
The candidates should have completed 17 years as on September 1st. There is no upper age limit.
5. Educational Qualifications:
1) The candidate who passed or appeared for the 10+2 final Examinations (qualifying examination) or its equivalent are eligible to appear for the entrance test. But they should have passed the qualifying examination by the time of admission.
2) The candidate should have secured 50 percent of marks in aggregate in qualifying examination. The minimum percentage of marks in the case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically Challenged candidates shall, however, be 45 percent.
3) The candidates who passed Intermediate examination with the vocational course(s) are not eligible.
