Training programme in Kibo XS for visually impaired on May 11

ALIGARH : Maulana Azad Library, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a Training Programme in Kibo XS for Visually impaired users on May 11, 2024 at 11 AM.

Prof Nishat Ftima, University Librarian said that Kibo XS Device is an innovative tool designed to enhance accessibility and support to the visually impaired students, research scholars and faculty members in their educational pursuits.

“It utilizes advanced optical character recognition (OCR) technology, text-to-speech capabilities and tactile interfaces to enable users to access and comprehend printed materials, making learning and research more accessible and engaging,” she added.

She said that Maulana Azad Library is committed to provide services to differently-abled persons. Kibo XS is one of the best solutions that help listen, translate, digitise and audiotize the content across different global languages. This program will help them to better understand the benefits and how to access and use the Kibo XS device effectively.

Dr. Asif Fareed Siddiqui, Deputy Librarian said that Maulana Azad Library has added special facilities for the visually challenged users in order to assist them in accessing library resources.
