President Smt. Draupadi Murmu made a historic sortie in a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft at Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam . The President, who is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, flew for about 30 minutes covering the Brahmaputra and Tezpur Valley and also had views of the Himalayas during the flight before returning to the Air Force Station. The aircraft was flown by Group Captain Naveen Kumar, Commanding Officer of 106 Squadron. The aircraft flew at an altitude of about two kilometers above sea level and at a speed of about 800 kilometers per hour. President Murmu, the third President and the second woman President to make such a flight Are. The President’s flight in the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft is a part of his efforts to engage with the armed forces, as the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. On reaching the venue of the event, the Prime Minister paid floral tributes and performed puja and meditation in Swami Vivekananda ‘s room. The Prime Minister also released a book written on the Holy Trinity on the occasion. Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, started by Swami Ramakrishnananda in Chennai in the year 1897 , are spiritual organizations engaged in various forms of humanitarian and social service work.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the new Integrated Terminal Building at Chennai Airport . With this, the airport’s capacity will be three crore passengers per year . Presently it is two crore thirty lakh passengers every year. On completion of the second phase, the airport will handle 35 million passengers per year. The total cost of this project is two thousand 467 crore rupees. Shri Modi boards the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express from Chennai at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station in Chennai The train was also flagged off. This will reduce the travel time between the two cities by at least one hour. The new Vande Bharat will benefit people in and around Coimbatore, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur, businessmen associated with the textile industry, IT professionals and students. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated the 37 kilometer long new broad gauge rail line section between Tiruthuraipundi and Agasthiyampalli. It has been prepared at a cost of Rs 294 crore. This line will facilitate the transportation of edible and industrial salt in and around Nagapattinam district. The Prime Minister also flagged off the DEMU train service between Tiruthuraipundi and Agasthiyampalli. Shri Modi also inaugurated the thrice-weekly express train service between Tambaram and Sengottai on the occasion. This is the first regular train service from Chennai to Thiruvarur – Karaikudi section.

4. PM flags off Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express at Secunderabad Railway Station in Hyderabad, Telangana

The Prime Minister flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express at Secunderabad Railway Station in Hyderabad , Telangana . The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express connecting IT City, Hyderabad to Tirupati, the abode of Lord Venkateswara is the second Vande Bharat train to be introduced from Telangana within a short span of three months. This train will reduce the travel time between the two cities by about three and a half hours and will be especially beneficial for the pilgrims. On the occasion, the Prime Minister was accompanied by the Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Sundararajan, Union Minister for Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister for Tourism, Shri G. Kishan Reddy were also present.

5. Joint military exercise ‘X Kavach’ concludes at Andaman and Nicobar Command

The Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) conducted a large-scale joint military exercise ‘ X Kavach ‘ involving assets of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The exercise, which began on February 23, 2023, will conclude on April 7, 2023. The exercise was aimed at fine-tuning joint combat capabilities and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enhancing inter-operability and operational synergy between the armies. The ‘Shatrujeet Brigade’ of the Army, Armed Forces Special Operations Division (AFSOD), Special Forces of the Navy and amphibious troops of the ANC carried out amphibious landings, airborne operations, heliborne operations and special operations off the coast on a remote island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Participated in multi-domain exercises involving rapid entry of forces.

6. PM lauds Mudra Yojana on completion of 8 years

He said that a large number of women, SC, ST and OBC entrepreneurs have accounts under the scheme. Ms. Sitharaman has said that the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has helped in creating a large number of employment opportunities at the grassroots level and has proved to be a game changer as well as a boost to the Indian economy.

7. Government to launch a special scheme for financial assistance to prisoners unable to pay fine and bail amount

The Center has decided to launch a special scheme to provide financial assistance to those prisoners who are unable to pay their fine amount or bail amount . This scheme will help poor prisoners. These prisoners belong to socially backward or underprivileged communities and are educationally and economically weak. This scheme will help them to come out of jail. The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the plan has been finalized after detailed consultations with the concerned parties. According to the ministry, the central government will provide financial assistance to the states, which will provide relief to indigent prisoners who fail to take bail or pay fine.

8. Bangladesh Electricity Development Board gets 450 MW power from Adani Power’s Godda plant

Recently, Bangladesh Electricity Development Board- BPDB has got 450 MW power from Adani Power ‘s Godda plant . Later it was increased to 750 MW. Prior to the commencement of commercial supplies, the Adani Power Plant at Godda in Jharkhand had tested the quality of operation for 14 days. Power Grid Company of Bangladesh- PGCB It had built a 134-km transmission line from the Chapainwabganj border to the Bogra sub-station to receive power from Adani Power’s Godda plant. Bangladesh is currently importing 1,160 MW of power from India. It is receiving 1000 MW power from Berhampur in West Bengal via Bhermara in Kushtia and 160 MW power from Suryamoni in Tripura via Comilla Deli. India is the only country with which Bangladesh has cross border electricity trade.

9. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurates Dogri translation of Indian Constitution at Jammu University

11. India Achieves 100% Rice Fortification Target

A total of 269 districts in 27 states of India have started distribution of fortified rice under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) under the Rice Fortification Programme. Has done and thus achieved the 100 percent target set by March 2023 for the second phase under the Rice Fortification Scheme. The objective of this program is to supply fortified rice in every social security coverage scheme of the Government of India in a phased manner by the year 2024. During the second phase of Rice Fortification Program, 105 Lakh MT of fortified rice under TPDS was lifted and distributed to 27 States/UTs, while about 29 Lakh MT was raised by the States/UTs under Integrated Child Development Services and PM Poshan MT of fortified rice was lifted. Thus a total of about 134 LMT fortified rice was lifted during the financial year 2022-23. The Konda Reddy community, classified as a Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) in Andhra Pradesh, live on both banks of the Godavari River (East and West Godavari districts) in the hilly forest area of Khammam (Telangana) and Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh) . They live in the interior forest areas due to which they are cut off from the main stream. Traditionally they practiced shifting cultivation but recently some of them have adopted settled agriculture and horticulture. Collecting non-timber forest products and making baskets are their sources of livelihood.

15. PM pays tributes to freedom fighter Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary

The Prime Minister paid tributes to freedom fighter Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary. He was popularly known as Babuji, the national leader, freedom fighter, social justice crusader, champion of the downtrodden and an outstanding Parliamentarian. He was born on April 5, 1908 in Chandwa, Bihar. I was born in a Dalit family. In the year 1931, he became a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). In the year 1935, he proposed in a session of Hindu Mahasabha that drinking water wells and temples should be opened for untouchables. In the year 1935, he appeared in Hammond Commission in Ranchi and for the first time demanded voting rights for Dalits. When Jawaharlal Nehru formed the interim government, Jagjivan Ram became its youngest minister. He died on July 6, 1986 in New Delhi. His memorial at his cremation site is named Samta Sthal (Place of Equality).
