The Telangana High Court issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed raising a human issue relating to 2000 families who are residing in a plot of land located at Miyapur village, Serilingampally Mandal, Ranga Reddy district known as Naddigadda Thanda, Subaschandra Bose Nagar and Omkar Nagar.

The PIL has been filed by Dr. P.R.Subas Chandran as in-person.

It is stated that the occupants belong to the most marginalized sections of the society and having no other alternative they are residing in the said place. They do not have access to sanitation and other basic amenities of human life. It is submitted that they are in occupation of the said plot of land for the last 40 years uninterruptedly.

They have been given ration cards, voter ID cards, adhaar cards and also extended various facilities by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). In Spite of that they are now being threatened with eviction by the respondents.

The Division Bench of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji issued notice to the respondents and listed the matter on 23.08.2023 for further hearing.
