Schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are closed today as a precautionary measure due to Cyclone Michaung forming over the Bay of Bengal. The cyclonic storm is anticipated to cross the South Andhra Pradesh and adjoining North Tamil Nadu coast. Chennai, Chengalpet, Thiruvallore, and Kalaiselvi are among the districts where schools and colleges are shut. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for both Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu due to heavy rain forecast by IMD.
