The Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday for educational institutions in the Mayiladuthurai District due to predicted heavy rainfall on November 14. An orange alert was issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, warning of the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall on November 13 and 14. The regions are expected to receive between 115.6 and 204.4 mm of rain. Waterlogging has already been reported in several areas due to continuous heavy rainfall.
