The Supreme Court Collegium on recommending the transfer of twenty-five judges of the High Courts.

The collegium comprising of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud,Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant have passed a resolution to transfer twenty-five High Court judges.

The Collegium is now seeking the views from consultee judges in the Apex Court who come from the concern parent High Courts where the transfers have been made to as they are conversant with the affairs of their parent courts.

The judicial body has also asked for the objections from the judges who have been proposed to be transferred.

As per the sources, the decision to transfer 25 judges is final and can only be altered if case there are requests for a transfer to a different High Court or not be transferred at all by the judges.

It is important to remember that in a recent development, Justice Rohit B Deo of Bombay High Court resigned from office on Friday which sources say was his impending transfer.
