The Supreme Court Collegium has proposed the transfer of Delhi High Court judge Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar to the Rajasthan High Court.

A resolution published on the website of the Apex Court said on Wednesday that the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended on 10 August 2023, the transfer of Justice Rajnish Bhatnagar, Judge, High Court of Delhi to the Rajasthan High Court, for better administration of justice.

On August 16, Justice Bhatnagar made a representation before the Collegium, requesting for his retention in Delhi.

As per the website, the Collegium did not find any merit in the request made by Justice Bhatnagar and hence, his request for retention in Delhi was turned down.

The Collegium further said that the recommendation was made after consulting the Chief Justices of both the High Courts as well judges of the Supreme Court conversant with the affairs of the Delhi High Court.
