Bharti Enterprises founder and chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal has become the first Indian citizen to receive a knighthood from Britain ‘s King Charles III . This title has been given to him for his contribution in strengthening trade relations between India and Britain. This award confers the title of Knight Commander on Shri Mittal which the most prestigious award of the British Empire . Mr Mittal, 66, said in a statement that India and Britain share historic ties. Both countries are now entering a new era with better cooperation.
