New Delhi: A former student, who once walked the halls of the college, has decided to give back in a meaningful way by making a generous financial contribution. In a noteworthy gesture, Amarjit Bakshi, an alumnus from the 1967 batch and the Chairman & Managing Director of The Bakshi Group of Companies, contributed Rs. 1 crore to IIT-Delhi’s Endowment Fund. The Institute established its Endowment Fund after Amarjit Bakshi contributed his initial payment of Rs. 1 crore in 2017.
The group stated that the donation is intended to bolster IIT Delhi’s research initiatives, enhance educational opportunities, and cultivate future leaders. “IIT Delhi has been the foundation of my professional journey, and I am honoured to contribute to its growth. This endowment is dedicated to enhancing the institute’s ability to deliver world-class education, support pioneering research and nurture the leaders of tomorrow. My vision is for the institute to continue delivering transformative solutions for society and equipping future generations with exceptional opportunities for learning,” Amarjit Bakshi stated while highlighting his contribution, Indian Express reported.
Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, conveyed heartfelt appreciation for Amarjit Bakshi’s dedication to the Endowment Fund.
