Speech competition organized on Sir Syed’s vision and mission

ALIGARH : The Hadi Hasan Hall of residence for men at the Aligarh Muslim University organized a Speech Competition, Farozaan, on ‘Vision and Mission of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’ in three languages – English, Urdu and Hindi.

Shabi Tauseef (BALLB) secured the first position while Amit Kumar Gupta (MBBS) and Rahul Kumar (B.Lib.) stood second and third, respectively. Abu Daud (BA) emerged as the best speaker of the evening.

Addressing the occasion, the chief guest, Dr. Ghufran Ahmad (former Warden-in-Charge, Allama Iqbal Boarding House), elaborated on Sir Syed’s effort to spread education as a tool for emancipation. He also emphasized Sir Syed’s role in building character and nurturing students with scientific temperaments.

He lauded Shahan Usmani’s (Joint Secretary, Literary) efforts in organizing the programme.

Prof. Mohammad Athar Ansari, Provost, Hadi Hasan Hall and Organising President of Farozaan, quoted Sir Syed while stressing the importance of being a good listener and developing the habit of reading in a plethora of ways. He highlighted the importance of spreading modern education and creating a scientific temperament.

Dr. Mohammad Salman Shah (Department of Community Medicine) and Dr. Shah Mohammad Abbas Waseem (Department of Physiology) judged the event.

Mohammad Sajjad extended a vote of thanks.
