The NEET medical entrance examination is considered one of the toughest in the country. Lakhs of students appear for the exam each year in hopes of becoming an MBBS doctor, but only a few succeed in realising their dreams. While many students seek guidance from coaching institutes, there are also those from humble backgrounds who manage to crack the exam through sheer determination and hard work.
Today we discuss one, Sanatan Pradhan who cracked the examination in his first attempt.
Sanatan Pradhan is a native of Tarimaha village in Odisha, where the youth often lack access to books and the internet. His father is a small farmer, and Sanatan could not afford to buy study materials. Undeterred, he borrowed a few books and began his preparations. Through hard work and determination, he cleared the NEET examination in his first attempt.
He studied at the village’s school and completed his 10th examination. He attended Khalikot junior college in Brahmapur and cleared 12th examination. He returned to his village for NEET examination. He faced a lot of challenges but his resilience and hard work didn’t shake his confidence.
Sanatan had to climb rocks to get a signal and access the internet, where he could download study materials to aid his preparations. Every day, he trekked 3 kilometers to reach the spot where he could get the connectivity he needed.
Finally, his hard work paid off, and he successfully cracked the NEET examination. He is now pursuing his MBBS at MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur.
