Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised Axis Bank Limited on granting financial assistance to Vizag Multipurpose Terminal Private Limited (“VMTPL”) by way of a rupee term loan facility for an amount aggregating to INR 305 crore for the purpose of, inter alia, part financing the design, finance, construction, operation, maintenance, marketing and mechanization of EQ-7, a multi-purpose cargo berth at state owned Visakhapatnam Port on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis through Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The deal was valued approximately at USD 4 million and the expected date of closing the deal was 31 May 2023.

The transaction team was led by Debashree Dutta, Partner; Associates, Nikita Hora, Aparna Arya, and Sanidhya Parashar.
