So far the current debt ceiling has been set at US$ 31.4 trillion. This means that the government cannot borrow more than this amount without the approval of Congress.

Scientists of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have identified a new species of eel in the Palur canal in Ganjam district of Odisha . The discovery was made in the Chilka Lagoon, the largest brackish water lagoon in Asia, and the nearby Palur Canal. The new species, Psiodonophis kalinga, is abundant in the region during the monsoon season from September to November. DNA analysis confirmed its difference from the previously assumed Psiodonophis boreo (rice-paddy eel). With this discovery, the total number of Psiodonophis species in Indian waters has increased to three.
