The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the AISSEE 2025 for admission to 33 Sainik Schools across the nation on January 09.

NTA shall conduct the All India Sainik School Entrance Exam for admissions to class VI and IX. The NTA will first release the answer key, candidates will be provided options to raise objections on it, on the basis of which final answer key and result will be announced.

Sainik Schools are premier educational institutions with the mission to prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy and other officer training academies.

The government has decided to admit girl cadets in all Sainik schools across the country from the academic session 2025-25.

At present, 33 Sainik schools are operating in the country. The Ministry of Defence has approved of 18 new Sainik Schools.

An autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Sainik Schools Society (SSS) runs schools across the country.

Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE board. The government is proposing to bring a new scheme for setting up Sainik schools in the country in partnership with NGOs, private schools and state governments.

The endeavor is to provide schooling opportunities in CBSE Plus type of educational environment by involving desirous government/private schools/NGOs to partner in establishing/aligning their system with Sainik schools ethos, value system and national pride.

The Sainik schools are run by Sainik Schools Society which is under administrative control of the Ministry of Defence.

The aim of establishing Sainik schools was to prepare the students from an early age for their entry into the Indian armed forces.

Sainik schools are established on receipt of specific requests from state governments. Earlier, only boy cadets were allowed to enroll in Sainik schools.

Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE and managed by Sainik Schools Society (Ministry of Defence).

They prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy (INA) and other training academies for Officers.

Scheme, duration, medium, syllabus of examination, list of Sainik Schools and their tentative intake, reservation of seats, exam cities, passing requirements, important dates and others relating to the exam are contained in the Information Bulletin hosted on .

The exam fee is also required to be paid online through payment gateway, using debit or credit cards or internet banking or PAYTM Wallet.

AISSEE 2022 as a centre-based offline test. AISSEE is a national-level entrance test conducted for admission to Class 6 and Class 9 at 33 Sainik Schools across the country. NTA will prepare the result sheet in the format/s required by Sainik Schools Society.

School-wise and category-wise merit list (separately for boys and girls and for Class 6 and Class 9) will be prepared by NTA and hosted on NTA website. After announcement of results, shortlisted candidates will be called for the medical exam.

The final merit list, published by a Sainik School on its website on the designated date after the Medical Exam, shall include class-wise and category-wise roll numbers of candidates, in the order of their merit, reflecting main list (equal to total number of seats in the category) and waiting list (remaining candidates).

AISSEE would be held for multiple choice questions in offline mode in 380 AISSEE exam centres in 176 cities across the country.

The student will have to score at least 25 per cent in each subject and 40 per cent in total to qualify the entrance exam.

Candidates will be shortlisted for final admission on the basis of a number of factors including the reserved seats ratio, medical fitness and verification of documents.

100 new Sainik schools​


100 new Sainik schools to provide opportunity to girl students to join armed forces. The department of defence and Sainik School Society should devise a mechanism for ranking all Sainik schools on the basis of their performance and audit.

It will lead to healthy competition among the schools, besides providing encouragement to introduce innovative steps.

Along with the curriculum, children should be exposed to patriotism and loyalty towards the nation as it will help in building their character and benefit the country.

The expansion of Sainik schools as one of the many important decisions taken by the government in the last six-seven years to improve the quality of basic education of children and ensure the holistic development of the country.

The setting up of 100 new Sainik schools will provide an opportunity to girls to join the armed forces and contribute to national security.

‘Sainik’ signifies unity, discipline and devotion, ‘School’ is the centre of education, therefore, Sainik schools are playing a pivotal role in making children capable citizens.

The government is focusing on providing quality education to the youth of the country as it lays a solid foundation for the all-round development of the society. Quality education is the fourth of the 17 sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations.

There are several other goals under ‘quality education’. It has been Govt Of India strong political commitment to achieve these goals. Several schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan are being run.

Setting up of 100 new Sainik schools is another important step in that direction. Sainik schools have contributed to the recruitment of more than 7,000 officers in the armed forces so far and have given the country officers.

Today, our country is moving fast in the path of self-reliance in every field. It is touching newer heights in fields like defence, health, communication, industry and transport due to the synergy between public and private sectors.

There is a need for a revolution in the education sector and the holistic development of children. This is only possible if there is a strong collaboration of defence, education and private sector.
