2 Rajasthan government will distribute free millet seeds to farmers
Recently, Rajasthan Government has decided to distribute free seeds of millets/millets and coarse grains to the farmers of the state to promote millet production . The state government is providing free mini kits of maize seeds to 12 lakh farmers , millet seeds to 800,000 farmers , mustard seeds to 700,000 farmers , moong seeds to 400,000 farmers and jowar and moth seeds to 100,000 farmers. will provideRajasthan’s share in the total millet production of the country is 26%. Millet and sorghum are the main millet crops produced in the state and 41% of the country’s millet production takes place in Rajasthan. The state government had launched Rajasthan Millet Promotion Mission in the year 2022-23 and made a provision of Rs 40 crore for setting up 100 primary processing units by farmers, entrepreneurs and voluntary organizations. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per farmer per year, while the minimum support price on wheat has been increased to Rs 2,400 per quintal by giving an additional bonus of Rs 125 per quintal.

8 Fitch raises GDP growth forecast to 7% in FY25
Global rating agency Fitch has increased India’s economic growth forecast for fiscal year 2025 from 6.5% to 7%. IndiaFitch said India’s economic growth will be supported by strong domestic demand and increased investment. The rating agency has also predicted retail inflation to fall to 4% by the end of 2024. Fitch expects the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to cut the repo rate by 0.5% between July and December.

The 1.7 km long Formula-4 car race was held from Lalit Ghat to Nehru Park on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar.
