To combat exam cheating, the Punjab government has made it mandatory for every institute to conduct state board exam under CCTV surveillance. The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training (PSBTE & IT) has spent INR 3 crore on installing CCTV cameras in government Polytechnics and ITIs.
