Macquarie University has announced the appointment of Professor Leanne Piggott as the new Dean of Students.

Professor Piggott will join Macquarie in May from the University of New South Wales, where she holds the positions of Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor, Student Success, and Director of Student Experience.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Rorden Wilkinson welcomed the appointment.

“I look forward to welcoming Professor Piggott to campus and drawing on her vast experience as we continue to ensure our students are at the heart of everything we do.”

As the new Dean of Students, Professor Piggott will be responsible for the development of the student experience and sense of belonging across the University.

“I am really looking forward to starting in my new role as Dean of Students and working with colleagues to enhance student experiences that support learning, personal development, and a diverse and socially responsible learning community,” says Professor Piggott.

“As I have shared the news with friends and colleagues of my move to Macquarie the consistent response, from former and current students and staff alike, has been that it is such a great place to study and to work.”
