Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi . The Prime Minister signed a copy of his book ‘ Power Within: The Leadership Legacy of Narendra Modi ‘. The book traces the leadership journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and explains Western and Indian perspectives, combining the two and providing a roadmap for those who aspire to a life of public service.
2 The Central Government reorganized the NITI Aayog
The central government has reorganized the NITI Aayog on July 16. Senior ministers of the alliance parties i.e. NDA have also got a place in it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chairman of NITI Aayog while Suman K Berry will be the vice-chairman of NITI Aayog. Dr. VK Saraswat , Professor Ramesh Chandra , Dr. VK Paul and Arvind Virmani have been made full-time members. The ex-officio members of NITI Aayog include Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Apart from these, Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari , Health Minister JP Nadda , Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy , MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi , Panchayati Raj Minister Lallan Singh , Social Justice Minister Virendra Kumar , Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu , Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram , Women and Child Welfare Minister Annapurna Devi , Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan and Minister of State with Independent Charge Rao Indrajit Singh have been appointed as special invitee members. Last time Piyush Goyal and Ashwini Vaishnav were also special invitees. But this time both of them have not been included. On January 1, 2015, the Planning Commission was replaced by a new institution NITI Aayog. It was established with the vision of minimum government, maximum governance . The full name of NITI Aayog is National Institution for Transforming India . It works as the top public policy think tank of the Government of India . Its works include “15-year road map”, “7-year vision, strategy and action plan”, AMRUT, Digital India, Atal Innovation Mission, medical education reform, agricultural reform. The first meeting of NITI Aayog was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 8, 2015.

4 India to host 2nd Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation
India is set to host the second Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on September 11 and 12 , which will be attended by delegates from around 40 countries, including China and Pakistan . The Asia-Pacific region is a significant contributor to global air traffic, and India is the world’s fastest-growing aviation market. The first Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference was held in Beijing in 2018. At the curtain raiser event of the conference at the national level, DGCA chief Vikram Dev Dutt said the Asia-Pacific region is set to account for over 33 per cent of total global flight departures in 2023.
5 All India Institute of Ayurveda successfully hosted ‘Saushrutam 2024’
The Department of Surgery at All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) New Delhi successfully organized the 2nd National Seminar Saushrutam Shalya Sansrambha on the auspicious occasion of Sushruta Jayanti-2024 . Sushruta Jayanti is celebrated every year on 15th July in honour of the great physician Sushruta, who is considered the father of surgery. Professor Sandeep Kumar, Founding Director, AIIMS Bhopal was the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony. Padma Shri Professor Manoranjan Sahu, Founding Director, AIIA Delhi; Professor Anurag Srivastava, Former Head of Department of Surgery, AIIMS New Delhi and Dr. MC Mishra, Former Director AIIMS were the Chief Guests. Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Nesari, Director of AIIA, Prof. Dr. Yogesh Badwe, Head of Department of Surgery welcomed all the dignitaries and gave information about the seminar.

7 World’s first 3D printed electric auto starts testing in Dubai
Dubai ‘s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started trial operations of the world’s first electric abra built using 3D printing technology in collaboration with the private sector . The abra, capable of carrying 20 passengers, was designed and built to retain the traditional abra identity. The abra was built by Al Seer Marine Company in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with several global companies , including Mitsubishi of Japan, which provided the materials used in the construction and printing of the abra, Siemens of Germany, which oversaw the programming and calibration of the printer, and Torqeedo of Germany, which supplied the electric motors. The TASNEEF company oversaw the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with safety standards.
8 Child vaccination rates in India will be lower in 2023 than in 2022
According to the WHO-UNICEF report released on July 16 , the rate of vaccination of children in India in the year 2023 was lower than in 2022. In the year 2020, there was a rapid decline in vaccination rates due to the Kovid 19 epidemic . Its effect was also seen in 2021. But, in 2022, there was an improvement in the vaccination rates. India is among the countries with the highest number of children receiving zero doses. A report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF shows that after the Kovid epidemic, India had improved its vaccination rates in the year 2022 in the case of almost all vaccines. However, vaccination rates have come down in the year 2023. In the case of children receiving zero doses against two diseases, India is among the countries with the highest number of such children. India has the second highest number of children who did not get any vaccine in the year 2023. About 16 lakh children of India have not received zero dose. This is second only to Nigeria, where 21 lakh children were not vaccinated. In 2022, India recorded the highest number of children with zero doses at 27.3 lakh globally. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was established by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946.
9 Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde announces job training and stipend scheme for youth
Days after launching a monthly financial assistance scheme for eligible women , Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a job training and stipend scheme for youths , named ‘ Lakda Bhau ‘ scheme. He announced the broad features of this new scheme, mainly for men , at Pandharpur in Solapur district on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi. He said that under this scheme, 12th pass job seekers will get Rs 6,000, diploma holders Rs 8,000 and those with a graduate degree will get Rs 10,000 per year. This amount will be given to them by the government during on-job training in the industry.

The Haryana government has decided to give 10 percent horizontal reservation to Agniveers in recruitment to certain posts in the police, mining and jail departments . Announcing this in Chandigarh , Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that Agniveers will be given 10 percent reservation in direct recruitment to the posts of constable, mining guard, forest guard, jail warden and special police officer-SPO in the state. He said that Agniveers will also be given 3 years relaxation in age limit in Group D recruitment. This relaxation will be five years for the first batch of Agniveers. He also announced five percent horizontal reservation for Agniveers in Group C posts and one percent in Group B posts.

The idols of the sibling deities riding on three chariots are adorned with over 208 kg of gold ornaments. After returning from the Gundicha Temple, the three chariots are parked in front of the main entrance of the Sri Jagannath Temple. 12 Indore in Madhya Pradesh created a world record by planting 11 lakh trees in a single day
Indore created a new Guinness World Record in the category of “ Most number of trees planted by a team in 24 hours ” by planting more than 11 lakh saplings on July 14. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Indore, India’s cleanest city and Madhya Pradesh ‘s economic capital, has now also created a world record of planting more than 11 lakh saplings in a day. The event was organized by the state government.Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the city of Indore for entering the Guinness Book of World Records for “Most number of trees planted by a team within 24 hours” and said that Mother Earth is smiling in the city.

India’s Shaurya Bava has won a bronze medal at the World Junior Squash Championship in Houston, USA . In the boys’ singles semi-final, Shaurya was defeated by Egypt’s Mohamed Zakaria 3-0.
14 117 players from India will participate in Paris Olympics
117 players from India will participate in the Paris Olympics . Apart from this, the Sports Ministry has also approved 140 members of the support staff, which also includes sports officials. Out of the players who qualified for the Olympics, only shot put athlete Abha Khatua ‘s name is not in the list. The maximum number of 29 players in the list are from athletics.
15 World Day of International Justice
World Day of International Justice is observed every year on 17 July to promote international criminal justice and honour the fight against impunity for serious crimes affecting the global community. The International Criminal Court (ICC) was established on 17 July 1998 with the adoption of the Treaty of Rome . The ICC is not a part of the United Nations system and has a separate agreement governing its relationship with the UN. Currently, 124 countries are parties to the Treaty of Rome of the ICC. India is not a party to the Treaty of Rome . The ICC is the first permanent international court and has jurisdiction over crimes under international law, including genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes of aggression committed on or after 1 July 2002. The Treaty of Rome is an important step in the fight against impunity for serious crimes, and ensures accountability of perpetrators.
