10 India France 21st edition of bilateral naval exercise ‘Varun’ –​

The second phase of the 21st edition of the bilateral exercise between Indian and French navies , Varuna (Varun-23) was conducted in the Arabian Sea . It is based on the training requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. The HTT-40 is a complete aerobatic aircraft, powered by a four-bladed turbo-prop engine. It is equipped with the latest safety features including a state-of-the-art glass cockpit, modern avionics and a zero-zero ejection seat. The maximum speed of the trainer is 450 kilometers per hour and the maximum service ceiling is six kilometers. The HTT-40 first flew on 31 May 2016 and received system level certification on 06 June 2022. The entire aircraft is currently in operation with the approval of the Military Airworthiness and Certification Center. The Indian Air Force signed a contract with HAL for the supply of 70 aircraft, with induction starting on 15 September 2025 and continuing till 15 March 2030.
