Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and PM Janaman Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan from Jharkhand . Shri Modi said–The government is continuously making efforts to ensure 100 percent benefit from the schemes of the Central Government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given four nectar mantras to make India a developed nation in the next 25 years of Amrit Kaal. Addressing a function organized on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda in Khuti , Jharkhand , Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India can become a developed nation if we empower the four nectar pillars – women, farmers, animal husbandry, agriculture and fisheries of the country. People associated with it, the youth and new middle class and poor class of the country . On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, Shri Modi launched the Rs 24 thousand crore Prime Minister Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan – PM Jan Mana. The objective of this scheme is to provide roads, telecommunication connectivity, electricity, safe housing, clean drinking water, accessible education, health and nutrition and livelihood opportunities to the underprivileged people of the tribal category. The Prime Minister said that the government has increased the budget for the welfare of tribal people six times. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also launched the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Its objective is to ensure that the benefits of major government schemes reach the eligible beneficiaries. Under this, Shri Modi also flagged off information, education and contact vans to make people aware. Earlier, the Prime Minister paid homage to Lord Birsa Munda on his 148th birth anniversary at his birthplace Ulihatu village in Khunti.

2 India and US sign MoU to add dynamic start-up mechanism​

India and the United States have signed a Letter of Intent to build a dynamic start-up ecosystem, particularly in critical and emerging technologies. India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, who is on a four-day visit to America, signed the letter of intent to advance the innovation ecosystem through mutual cooperation. Shri Goyal discussed the growing commercial cooperation and trade related work between India and the US on the sidelines of the IPHE-India Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity ministerial bilateral meeting with US Minister Gina Raimundo . During the current visit, India and the United States and 12 other partners in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity signed the IPHE Supply Chain Flexible Agreement.

Indian skydiver Sheetal Mahajan jumped from a helicopter from a height of 21 thousand 500 feet in front of the world’s highest peak Mount Everest . She is the first woman to do so . Mahajan landed on Kala Patthar peak at a height of 17 thousand 444 feet . Sheetal Mahajan is a famous Indian skydiver, who has made many records in this discipline. He was awarded the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth highest civilian award, in 2001 .

4 UN’s World Meteorological Organization reports record increase in climate warming gases in 2022​

The United Nations World Meteorological Organization has reported a record increase in climate warming gases in the year 2022 . The organization’s report also states that between 1990 and 2022, the impact of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will increase by fifty percent . This happened mainly because of fossil fuels . According to the report, the concentration of carbon dioxide is currently fifty percent higher than before the Industrial Revolution. The concentration of two other greenhouse gases methane and nitrous oxide has also increased. This report of the World Meteorological Organization has been released before the summit conference of the countries involved in the United Nations Climate Treaty starting on 30 November .

5 Indian International Trade Fair begins at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi​

Indian International Trade Fair 2023 has started at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. This fair will continue till 27th of this month. Inaugurating the trade fair, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel said that the participation of more than three thousand five hundred exhibitors in the fair shows the world’s trust in India. He said that this 42nd edition of the trade fair will facilitate investment as well as encourage the economic growth and development of the country. Anupriya Patel said that in the last ten years, the government has made many policy changes to favor the industry. The theme of the 14-day long trade fair is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and it emphasizes on the importance of sustainable development and mutual cooperation in trade.

6 More than 15 products of Uttarakhand given GI tag​

From local tea to textiles made from Himalayan plants, more than 15 products from Uttarakhand have been given the coveted GI tag by the Geographical Indications Registry . Berinag tea from Uttarakhand , which is highly sought after in London tea houses and tea blenders, is made from the leaves of a plant growing wild in the Himalayas, which are then compressed into a solid mass. Bichoo Booti cloth made from Himalayan nettle fiber was also on the list of products to receive the GI tag. Since plant fibers are hollow, they have the unique ability to store air inside, creating natural insulation and an ideal clothing material for both winter and summer. Millet grown in Uttarakhand’s Mandua, Garhwal and Kumaon , which forms part of the staple diet in many parts of the state, was one of the products to receive the GI tag. Similarly, Jhangora , a domesticated millet commonly grown in rain-fed areas of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand, received a tag. Gahat is one of the most important pulses grown in the dry regions of the state , the medicinal uses of which have been known to Ayurveda and traditional healers for centuries. Uttarakhand Red Rice, a red rice grown organically in the Purola region , was also on the list. Other products to receive the GI tag include Uttarakhand Kala Bhatt (black soybean) ; Malta Fruits ; Amaranth (Ramdana) , a grain used during fasting days; Buran juice obtained from the red flowers of Rhododendron arboreum ; Pahari Toor Dal ; Writings or wood carvings from Uttarakhand , Nainital candles (candles) , Rangwali Pichhoda from Kumaon , litchi from Ramnagar Nainital , peaches from Ramgarh Nainital , Chamoli wooden Ramman masks , and a variety of chilli, Almora Lakhori Mirchi .

8 RBI asks Bajaj Finance Ltd to stop sanctioning and disbursing loans under its two loan schemes with immediate effect​

The Reserve Bank of India has asked Bajaj Finance Limited to stop sanctioning and disbursing loans under its two loan schemes – E-Com and Insta EMI Cards with immediate effect. According to the press release of the Reserve Bank, this decision has been implemented using the powers granted under Section 45 L (1) (B) of the Reserve Bank of India Act 1934. RBI said that this action was necessary due to the company not complying with the provisions of the Reserve Bank’s digital lending guidelines. The apex bank said that the imposed restrictions will be reviewed again after the flaws are rectified.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has granted Internet Service Provider (ISP) license to Jio Satellite Communications and OneWeb . The development comes a year after both companies received permits to provide satellite communications services, marking an important milestone in their efforts to revolutionize Internet connectivity. The newly acquired ISP licenses empower Jio Satellite Communications and OneWeb to provide Internet services by seamlessly integrating satellite capabilities with terrestrial networks. Additionally, they can use Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) technology to establish direct connections with end consumers. The move reflects a commitment to bridging the digital divide and expanding internet access to previously underserved areas.

11 MoRTH proposes uniform cyber security standards for four-wheelers​

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has introduced a draft proposal for uniform cyber security and management system (CSMS) provisions for specific categories of four-wheelers, including both passenger and commercial vehicles . Its purpose is to keep these vehicles and their functions safe from potential cyber threats. According to the draft titled ‘ Approval of vehicles with respect to cyber security and cyber security management system ‘, vehicle manufacturers or their accredited representatives will have to submit applications for approval of vehicle types related to cyber security. This step ensures that the vehicles follow standardized cyber security measures.

Iceland declares state of emergency due to fear of volcanic eruption due to 12 earthquakes​

A state of emergency has been declared in Iceland after a powerful earthquake struck the Reykjanes peninsula , indicating a possible volcanic eruption within days. Thousands of tremors have occurred near the village of Grindavik since October. The largest earthquakes struck on Friday, felt up to 40 km away in the capital, causing damage to infrastructure. The sale makes it the second most expensive Picasso painting ever sold . Picasso’s most expensive painting to date, “ Les Dames d’Alger ,” reached $179.3 million in 2015 . The painting is a portrait of Picasso’s lover Marie-Therese Walter, sitting on a throne-like chair against a blue background. It was painted in 1932, a crucial year in Picasso’s career, and is considered one of his most important works.

15 Sixth high-level meeting of India-OPEC energy dialogue held​

The sixth high-level meeting of the Energy Dialogue between India and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was held on 9 November 2023 at the OPEC Secretariat in Vienna, Austria. The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Haitham Al Ghais, Secretary General of OPEC and H.E. Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs. 16 SIDBI, JOCATA launch MSME Economic Activity Index ‘Sampoorna’​

Jokata , a platform that creates digital technology ecosystem for financial institutions, in collaboration with SIDBI has launched a new MSME Economic Activity Index ‘Sampoorna’ . Jokata said in a statement that this MSME-based high-frequency indicator will give an idea of the status of India’s small and medium industries. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) contribute more than a quarter to the country’s overall gross value added (GVA) and more than 40 percent to total exports.

17 Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary​

The Prime Minister of India paid tribute to Birsa Munda, a tribal leader belonging to the Munda tribe in the Chhotanagpur plateau region, on his birth anniversary (November 15, 1875) . Birsa Munda introduced the ‘ Birsait ‘ faith in response to the British colonial presence and the efforts of missionaries to convert the tribals to Christianity . He emerged as a tribal leader and led resistance against British conversion efforts. . He led the Munda Rebellion , which aimed to establish Munda Raj, or self-rule, and restore tribal rights to their lands and forests. Birsa Munda encouraged the tribals to oppose the colonial laws and refuse to pay taxes. He started the Ulgulan movement, involving guerrilla warfare, challenging religious practices, and social changes. The objective of the Ulgulan movement was to oust the British and establish the Munda Raj. Recognizing the tribal contribution, the birth anniversary was celebrated as Tribal Pride Day . He is known as ‘ Lord ‘ and ‘ Dharti Abba ‘ by the followers. The state of Jharkhand was established separately from Bihar on November 15, 2000 (on the occasion of Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary) after the Bihar Reorganization Act, 2000 was passed by the Indian Parliament .

His journey from a simple street vendor to the chairman of a successful business empire is a testament to his indomitable spirit and dedication. Hailing from Bikaner, a city with a rich culinary heritage, Agarwal’s family owned a modest sweet shop named Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar since 1905. Later, the Agarwal brothers opened a shop in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, where they used their family recipes passed down from generation to generation. Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar soon became famous for its Moong Dal Halwa, Bikaneri Bhujia and Kaju Katli, among other things. The two brothers and the shop soon became popular as Bikanerwala.
