1 President inaugurates Indian Arts Festival at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad

Smt. Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the first edition of
the Indian Arts Festival at
Rashtrapati Nilayam , Secunderabad . The eight-day festival is being organized by Rashtrapati Nilayam in collaboration with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Ministry of Culture. The festival aims to showcase to the visitors the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the North Eastern States –
Arunachal Pradesh ,
Assam ,
Manipur ,
Meghalaya ,
Mizoram ,
Nagaland ,
Sikkim and
Tripura . The Indian Arts Festival will be open to visitors from September 29 to October 6, 2024 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
2 CAG of India takes over chairmanship of ASOSAI for 2024-2027
Girish Chandra Murmu, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, on September 25, 2024 officially assumed
the chairmanship of the Association of Asian Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) for
the term 2024-2027 . This important change was highlighted during the 16th Assembly of ASOSAI, which has expanded its membership to include 48 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) across Asia.
3 Bharat Biotech signs MoU with SAHE
Bharat Biotech on Friday, September 28 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with
SAHE (The Society for Advancement of Human Endeavour) . The agreement is to renovate the historic
stepwells at
Ammapalli Temple and
Salar Jung Museum . The initiative comes as a part of the Telangana government’s
corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. This will rejuvenate the stepwells as well as improve the architecture. Apart from this, Bharat Biotech has also collaborated with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Telangana to promote environmental sustainability, preserve cultural heritage and support eco-heritage tourism. 4 UPI now mandatory for bids up to ₹5 lakh in public debt issues
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has implemented new guidelines under which
retail investors will be required to use Unified Payment Interface (UPI) to block funds while applying for public issues of debt securities of amounts up to Rs 5 lakh . The regulation aims to streamline the application process for individual investors involved with public debt issues, including non-convertible redeemable preference shares, municipal debt securities and securitized debt instruments. The new rule will come into effect on November 1, 2024, and is part of SEBI’s effort to increase efficiency and align the process with equity share applications.

7 Hurricane Helen wreaks havoc in America
In America, on Friday,
September 27, 50 people have died in 12 states due to
the Helen cyclone . Many people have been injured. 1 crore 20 lakh people have been affected by this. Emergency has been declared in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Alabama in America . More than 1000 flights have been canceled in these states. More than 4 thousand flights have been affected. The State Emergency Service said that 5 crore people can be affected in the next two to three days. American meteorologist Phil Klotzbach said that in the last 35 years, only 3 storms were bigger than Helen. Irma of 2017, Wilma of 2005 and Opal of 1995. At the same time, this is the biggest storm in the Gulf of Mexico in 100 years. 134 people died in America and neighboring countries due to Irma storm. According to meteorologists, the number of powerful storms is increasing due to increasing temperature. Storm is a kind of disturbance in the atmosphere, which is accompanied by strong winds and rain, snow or hail. When these occur on land, they are called normal storms, but the storms arising from the sea are called hurricanes.
8 Aleem Dar announces retirement from international umpiring

International Cricket Council (ICC) elite umpire and

World Cricket Umpire of the Year ‘. Dar is currently on Pakistan’s elite panel and is one of four Pakistani umpires on the ICC international panel. He made his first-class umpiring debut in Pakistan’s domestic tournament Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 1999. He has officiated in 145 Tests, 231 ODIs and 72 T20s and five T20 World Cups so far. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is cricket’s global governing body. It was founded in 1909 as the Imperial Cricket Conference by representatives from Australia, England and South Africa.

Pappammal passed away on Friday night. Pappammal breathed her last at the age of 109. She was a resident of
Coimbatore district of
Tamil Nadu . Her life was dedicated to agriculture and social service . Pappammal played an important role in promoting organic farming and explaining its importance. She was not only a skilled farmer, but she also participated actively in social work in her life. Pappammal was also an active member of
the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party . This political participation of Pappammal also gave her wide recognition. She used to cultivate millet, pulses, vegetables in her fields and due to her interest in organic farming, she did many experiments.
