1 President Draupadi Murmu approved three new criminal bills 2023
President Draupadi Murmu has assent to the Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Defense Code and Indian Evidence Bill 2023 . Parliament had passed these three new bills related to criminal justice last week. There is a provision in the new Acts to make the entire process digital from the First Information Report to the case diary, charge sheet and court decision. The new laws provide for death penalty for mob lynching and murder by mobs . Many provisions have been made for the safety of women and children. The Indian Judicial Code provides for life imprisonment and death penalty for the crime of raping a woman under 18 years of age.There is no In cases of gang rape , there is a provision of punishment of 20 years imprisonment or imprisonment till death. The new law defines terrorism for the first time within the criminal justice system .
2 Prime Minister launched ‘Pandit Madanmohan Malviya Sampoorna Vangmay’ on the occasion of 162nd birth anniversary of Pandit Madanmohan Malviya
On the occasion of the 162nd birth anniversary of Mahamana Pandit Madanmohan Malviya, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the first series of 11 volumes of ‘ Pandit Madanmohan Malviya Sampoorna Vangmay ‘ in a program at Vigyan Bhawan , New Delhi . Compiled in approximately 4,000 pages and 11 volumes This work, published in two languages (English and Hindi) , is a collection of articles and speeches of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya collected from every corner of the country. These volumes include his unpublished letters, articles and speeches, including memoranda; Editorial content of the Hindi weekly ‘Abhyudaya’ started by him in the year 1907; Articles, pamphlets and booklets written by him for periodicals; All the speeches delivered in the Legislative Council of the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh between 1903 and 1910; Statements given before the Royal Commission; Speeches given during the presentation of bills in the Imperial Legislative Council between 1910 and 1920; Letters, articles and speeches written before and after the establishment of Banaras Hindu University; and includes a diary written by him between 1923 and 1925. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the famous founder of Banaras Hindu University, has a leading place among the makers of modern India. He is remembered as a great scholar and freedom fighter. He did a lot of work to awaken national consciousness among the people.
3 Prime Ministers participated in the program ‘Dedicated to the welfare of workers, to the workers’
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the program ‘ Dedicated to the welfare of workers ‘ through video conferencing . He also handed over a check of approximately Rs 224 crore related to the dues of Hukumchand Mill workers to the Official Liquidator and the heads of the labor union of Hukumchand Mill, Indore. This program symbolizes the settlement of long pending demands of Hukumchand Mill workers. Mr Modi also laid the foundation stone of a 60 MW solar power plant in Khargone district . closure of Indore’s Hukumchand Mill in 1992 and later went into liquidation, the workers of this mill fought a long legal battle for payment of their dues. More recently, the Madhya Pradesh government played a positive role and successfully negotiated a compromise package supported by all stakeholders including courts, labor unions and mill workers. The settlement plan involves paying all dues in advance to the Madhya Pradesh government, taking possession of the mill land and developing it as residential and commercial space.
4 Supreme Court of India (SC) records significant increase in disposal of cases during the year 2023
Recently the Supreme Court of India (SC) has recorded a significant increase in the disposal of cases during the year 2023 , which is more than the number of cases registered during this period. The SC disposed of 52,191 cases between January 1 and December 15, 2023 , while 49,191 cases were also registered during the same period . implemented in 2017The Integrated Case Management Information System (ICMIS) played an important role in achieving maximum disposal numbers. The Chief Justice of India streamlined the filing-to-listing deadline, ensuring that cases were listed within five days compared to the previous 10-day requirement. Cases related to bail, habeas corpus, demolition and anticipatory bail were processed within a day and immediately listed in the courts, giving priority to the right to liberty. Special benches were formed, including benches dealing with the death penalty.
5 Ministry of Tribal Affairs launches campaign for Pradhan Mantri Tribal Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan
Ministry of Tribal Affairs has initiated the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign on Pradhan Mantri Tribal Nyay Maha-Abhiyan . The objective of this campaign is to ensure 100% reach of government schemes in tribal dominated areas, especially among Vulnerable Tribal Groups – PVTGs and to increase awareness. The objective of this campaign is also to make welfare government schemes reach 22 thousand PVTG tribal habitations in two hundred districts across the country. The ministry said that this initiative will reach the homes of every vulnerable tribal group. Those households which till now have been deprived due to distance, roads and lack of digital connectivity. Through this, the government will provide facilities at the doorstep of every such house. The ministry said that during the campaign period, these groups will be given Aadhar cards, community certificates and Jan-Dhan accounts, which are necessary for Ayushman card, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Kisan Credit Card. Haat Bazaar, Public Service Center, Gram Panchayat, Anganwadi, Van-Dhan Vikas Kendra and Agriculture Development Center will be used to organize these programs. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Man Yojana on Tribal Pride Day from Khunti district of Jharkhand on 15 November this year.

The three new features launched on the iGOT Karmayogi platform are My iGOT , Blended Program and Curated Program . The Minister also launched 12 sector specific capacity building e-learning courses. Apart from this, Dr Jitendra Singh also launched a new blended learning program named Vikas (Variable and Immersive Karmayogi Advanced Support) . Vikas is a blended program with IGOT consisting of 30 hours of hands-on training along with 33 hours of offline training in ISTM focusing on the development of functional, behavioral and technical competencies required for Central Government. My iGOT – My iGOT provides targeted training courses on the home page of the individual officer, directly addressing the unique capacity building needs of that officer as identified in the capacity-building plan for their Ministries/Departments. Blended Programs – Blended programs on the iGOT-Karmayogi platform will facilitate equitable access to training modalities at all levels to meet the dynamic training needs of officers. Blended programs combine traditional offline (in-person) classroom courses with online learning components.
Curated Programs – Curated programs on iGOT Karmayogi are designed to meet the diverse learning needs of Ministries/Departments and training institutes.

9 National Consumer Rights Day
उपभोक्ता अधिकारों तथा ज़िम्मेदारियों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिये भारत प्रत्येक वर्ष 24 दिसंबर को राष्ट्रीय उपभोक्ता अधिकार दिवस मनाता है। इसी दिन उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम 1986 को 24 दिसंबर 1986 को राष्ट्रपति द्वारा मंज़ूरी मिली थी। इस अधिनियम का उद्देश्य उपभोक्ताओं का दोषपूर्ण वस्तुओं, लापरवाह सेवाओं एवं अनुचित व्यापार प्रथाओं से संरक्षण करना है। उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम के छह मौलिक अधिकार सुरक्षा का अधिकार, चुनने का अधिकार, सूचित किये जाने का अधिकार, सुनवाई का अधिकार, निवारण पाने का अधिकार एवं उपभोक्ता शिक्षा का अधिकार हैं। उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम, 1986 को प्रतिस्थापित करने के लिये उपभोक्ता संरक्षण अधिनियम, 2019 संसद द्वारा पारित किया गया था। विश्व उपभोक्ता अधिकार दिवस 15 मार्च को मनाया जाता है।
10 पंडित मदन मोहन मालवीय जयंती
25 दिसंबर, 2023 को पंडित मदन मोहन मालवीय की 162वीं जयंती मनाई गई। मदन मोहन मालवीय (25 दिसंबर, 1861 – 2 नवंबर, 1946) एक भारतीय विद्वान, राजनीतिज्ञ और शिक्षा सुधारक थे। वह भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में एक नेता थे और चार बार भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कॉन्ग्रेस के अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य किया। वह अखिल भारत हिंदू महासभा तथा बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय के संस्थापक भी थे।

President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the ‘ Sadavid Atal ‘ memorial in New Delhi on the 99th birth anniversary . This day is celebrated as Good Governance Day . Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on 25 December 1924 in a simple family of a small village in Gwalior . Atal ji’s political journey started as a freedom fighter. In 1942, he participated in the Quit India Movement along with other leaders and also went to jail. During this time, he met Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Shyam Prasad Mukherjee . After the death of Deendayal Upadhyay in 1968, Atal ji became the national president of Jan Sangh. In 1977, Bharatiya Jana Sangh formed an alliance with Bharatiya Lok Dal , which was named Janata Party . When Janata Party leader Morarji Desai became the Prime Minister, Atal ji was made the External Affairs Minister . In 1980, he formed the Bharatiya Janata Party along with Lal Krishna Advani and Bhairav Singh Shekhawat , and became the first national president of the party. In May 1996, BJP won and Atal ji was elected to the post of Prime Minister. But BJP did not get support from other parties and the BJP government fell and Atal ji had to resign from the post in just 13 days. After this once again BJP came to power but the government lasted only 13 months. After this, India’s victory in Kargil in 1999 strengthened Atal ji’s government. And BJP won the elections, after which Atal ji sat on the post of Prime Minister for the third time. This time the government completed 5 years , and became the first non-Congress party .
