Postpone ICAI CA May Intermediate, Final Exams 2024: Following the announcement of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 dates, the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) promptly revised the schedule for the CA Intermediate and Final Exams 2024. Sharing disappointment, several students have taken to social media platforms to voice their genuine concerns regarding the updated schedule for the CA May exams 2024, urging the Institute to consider postponing the CA Intermediate and Final exams from May to June, following the 18th Lok Sabha general elections 2024. As we know, in view of Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha across India, Chartered Accountant Examinations May 2024 stand rescheduled and the said examinations will now be held as given below:-
ICAI CA Intermediate Examination
[As per syllabus contained in the scheme notified by the Council under Regulation 28 F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.]
ICAI CA Final Examination
[As per syllabus contained in the scheme notified by the Council under Regulation 31 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.]
Many students, activists, and academics have shown solidarity, advocating postponing CA exams to June. They argue that postponing the CA examination to June would enable aspirants to pursue their academic goals while also exercising their fundamental right to vote as citizens of India. As per a notice released by the Institute on March 19, CA Final exams for group 1 will be held on May 2, 4, and 8 whereas group 2 will be conducted on May 10, 14, and May 16, 2024. Sharing a post, the All India Students Dental Association has urged the institute to postpone the ICAI CA examination.” We Req Please consider if you can @theicai for #castudents #ICAI #icaiexams #CA,” reads the tweet. “Students are curious about study but they can’t focus on studies. Worst decision by ICAI. Students are first priority on this matter. Postpone for student’s better. #icai #castudents #icaiexams #CA,” the post further reads.
“Even though casting vote is fundamental right of our democratic society, I don’t think students would cast their votes as some may be staying near their institutes far away from their home or may have exam centre in different city..state.. and even if they stay in the same city, as we all know how CA students ‘function’. (Like a machine). Especially during exam times, 99% of the students would prefer to stay home & cover as much as portions they can,” reads a CA student message.
“UPSC is having a single day exam whereas #icai is comprising ca inter both grp + final both grps?? please
@theicai a very humble request being a eligible voter kindly postpone the exams already the course is enough+ we can’t bear more responsibilities
#caexams #Elections,” another student wrote. “Disappointed with @theicai for scheduling exams during elections, disenfranchising CA students of their fundamental voting right. Urging ICAI to reconsider and reschedule exams. Every vote counts! #RightToVote @narendramodi @AmitShah,” read another post.
“Dear @theicai, the clash between the CA exams on May 24th and the General Election 2024 is causing undue stress for many students. Kindly consider postponing the exams to avoid any inconvenience. Your support in this matter is highly appreciated. #Icai #Election2024 @PMOIndia,” reads the post.
