Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the centuries-old Namda craft of Kashmir Has shared an article regarding the revival on his Twitter handle. Shri Modi said that he is happy that the age-old Namda art of Kashmir is reviving and is now reaching the global stage after years. He said that this is a testimony to the skill of Indian artisans and their ability to persevere in the face of adversity. The Prime Minister said that the revival of crafts is great news for India’s rich heritage. Namda is a local term for a floor covering that is made of coarse wool. Namda is known as a craft art in various cultures especially in Asian countries like Iran, Afghanistan and India. Namda traditional art came to India with the Iranian people and gained recognition under the patronage of the Mughal and Rajput rulers. There are two main centers of Namda traditional art in India (Srinagar in Kashmir and Tonk in Rajasthan).

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is chairing the Regional Conference on Drug Trafficking and National Security in New Delhi . From June 1 last year to July 15 this year, NCB and the regional units of the states have collectively destroyed about eight lakh seventy six thousand kg of drugs. This is eleven times more than the fixed target. Their value is about nine thousand five hundred and eighty crore rupees.

4 NITI Aayog released Export Preparedness Index 2022 report in New Delhi​

NITI Aayog released the Export Preparedness Index 2022 report in New Delhi . According to this, the coastal states have performed best on all the indicators. Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat States like this have also performed exceptionally well. The report states that the higher average of the coastal states reflects their better preparedness and contribution to national exports. Regarding the policy framework, the report states that the states are taking necessary policy measures. 73 percent of the districts in the country have prepared export action plans and more than 99 percent of the districts are covered under the One District One Product scheme. One hundred districts of the country export about 87 percent of the total exports. Referring to the lack of adequate transport connectivity, the report said that lack of air connectivity hinders the movement of goods in landlocked states. The report suggested to the states that Indian states need to invest in research and development for development of market specific products and product quality improvement.

5 NITI Aayog said that in five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20, more than 13 crore people were freed from poverty​

The number of persons living in multidimensional poverty in the country has declined from 24.85 per cent to 14.96 per cent between 2015-16 and 2019-21 . This has been disclosed in the National Multidimensional Poverty Index released by NITI Aayog . This National Multidimensional Poverty Index shows India’s progress in reducing multidimensional poverty between the National Family Health Survey 2015-16 and the National Family Health Survey 2019-21 . NITI Aayog Chief Executive Officer B.V.R. subramaniam informed that 135 million people have been lifted out of multidimensional poverty during this period. He said that India is on course to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 1.2, much ahead of the target of 2030. Mr. Subramaniam also said that the report shows that poverty in rural areas declined sharply from 32.59 per cent to 19.28 per cent during this period. The maximum decline in the number of poor has been registered in Uttar Pradesh. Their number has been recorded as 3 crore 43 lakh. It is followed by Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Providing multidimensional poverty estimates for 36 states, union territories and 777 administrative districts, the report said the largest reduction in the proportion of multidimensional poor was observed in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Rajasthan.

8 Income limit of PM Awas Yojana increased in Maharashtra​

The Center recently made a significant change in the income criteria for individuals falling under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban ((PMAY-U) in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) . Increase in income limit from Rs.3 lakh to Rs.6 lakh with a view to expand eligibility and access to housing has been done. The Maharashtra government informed that the Union Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has informed the state government in this regard by writing a letter. This decision has been taken to help the economically weak people. Significantly, PM Awas Yojana is for urban and rural people. Under this, people who have kutcha houses, who do not have roofs, can apply for a house under the PM Awas Yojana. Under this scheme, funds are given to the poor for building houses. Apart from this, subsidy is also given in home loans to people with low income. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 June 2015.

9 Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2023​

The Union Cabinet has reportedly approved amendments to the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of the Provisions) Bill, 2023 . The proposed changes are aimed at decriminalizing minor offenses by amending 183 provisions in 42 Acts administered by 19 ministries . It aims to promote ease of doing business and reduce the backlog of court cases. The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill was initially introduced in the Lok Sabha on December 22, 2022, by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. It was later referred to a Joint Committee of Parliament, which held detailed discussions with the ministries and departments involved. The committee adopted its report in March 2023, which was presented before the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.

15 India approves amendment to promote mineral exploration​
