Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati on April 14, 2023. Services including limited OPD for locals and patient care service started operating last year. The hospital is already providing services such as pharmacy, day care, laboratory facilities and radiological investigations. The new hospital currently has a patient capacity of 150 beds, with a plan to become fully functional with 750 beds within the next three or four years.
