1 PM Modi flagged off 3 Vande Bharat trains
On August 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 3 Vande Bharat trains . These trains will run between Chennai to Nagercoil, Madurai to Bengaluru and Meerut to Lucknow . PM attended this event through video conferencing. The Railway Ministry said that these trains have Kavach technology, 360 degree rotating chairs, toilets suitable for the needs of Divyangjans and integrated Braille signage . Chennai-Nagercoil Vande Bharat train will run every day except Wednesday. Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train will run every day except Tuesday. Vande Bharat train going from Lucknow to Meerut will run daily. During the event, PM Modi said that soon the sleeper version of Vande Bharat and Vande Metro will also come. PM Modi said that now 102 Vande Bharat trains are running across the country in which more than 3 crore people have traveled. The route of Vande Bharat trains is connecting more than 280 districts of the country. Vande Bharat trains were launched on 15 February 2019 under the Make in India scheme.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a commemorative postage stamp to mark the completion of 75 years of the Supreme Court of India . The stamp was unveiled during the inaugural session of the District Judges Conference held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event was attended by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court , Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud , Union Minister of Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and other dignitaries. The commemorative stamp symbolises the invaluable contribution of the Supreme Court to the judicial system of India and its pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape of the nation. Established on January 28, 1950, the Supreme Court has been at the forefront in upholding the rule of law, protecting the rights of citizens and ensuring the administration of justice across the country.
3 Centre releases Biotechnology Policy ‘Bio E-3’ related to economy, environment and employment
The Centre has released the Biotechnology Policy on Economy, Environment and Employment- Bio E-3 . Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said in New Delhi that this policy will promote bio manufacturing in the country and will have a significant impact on the food, energy and health sectors. This policy will be implemented with private participation and will also create employment. Dr Singh said that bio manufacturing and bio-foundry will boost the country’s future bio economy and economic growth will be environment friendly. The Union Cabinet approved the Bio E-3 policy on 24 August this year.

Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, a senior officer of the Indian Information Service, took over as Director General of the News Service Division of All India Radio in New Delhi . She has served in various capacities during her 33-year career under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
5 Transgender becomes CHO for the first time in Jharkhand
On August 29, transgender Amir Mahato was appointed as Jharkhand ‘s first Community Health Officer (CHO) . Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed over the appointment letter to Amir Mahato of West Singhom district. In this event, 365 candidates including Amir Mahato have been given appointments under the National Health Mission. Mahato’s mother wanted to become a nurse but could not do so due to family reasons. Since then, his mother always encouraged him to study. Amir Mahato has studied from Sambalpur Nursing College, Odisha . In September 2023, the Jharkhand Cabinet approved reserving seats for transgenders in government jobs and educational institutes.
6 Now 5 people can make payment from one UPI account
On August 30 , the government launched a new feature ‘ UPI Circle Delegated Payment Service ‘ in the UPI app . By activating this facility, you will be able to add one or more persons to your UPI app . All the added persons will be able to make UPI payments from your bank account . Through this, a maximum transaction of up to 15 thousand can be done in a month . You can give access to your bank account up to a limit through your UPI circle. In this case, the person you add to your UPI circle will be the secondary user and you will be the primary user. People who do not have a bank account can also be added to the UPI circle as a secondary user. In this, the service can be used in two ways – through full delegation and partial delegation. Under full delegation, the primary user gives permission to all his secondary users to transact up to a limit. The secondary user will be able to transact up to a maximum of Rs 5000 at a time. In partial delegation, the primary user gives permission to his secondary users to start the payment process. In such a case, payment will happen only when the primary user enters the UPI PIN.
7 60 Indian participants will take part in 61 events at World Skills Competition in Lyon, France
60 Indian participants will take part in 61 events at the World Skills Competition to be held in Lyon , France . Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Jayant Chaudhary will flag off the Indian contingent on 6 September. Secretary of the Ministry, Atul Kumar Tiwari said that the participants in the Indian contingent have received training from experts. The contestants for this program have been selected from the India Skills National Competition held in New Delhi in May this year.
8 Union Minister Smt. Annapurna Devi launches 7th National Nutrition Month 2024
The 7th National Nutrition Month was launched from Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event focused on promoting nutritional awareness and health across the country and was attended by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smt. Annapurna Devi, Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Minister for Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat Smt. Bhanuben Babaria, senior officials of Government of India and Government of Gujarat and other dignitaries. ‘Newborn Baskets’ were provided to pregnant and lactating mothers and Annaprashan Sanskar of infants was performed . The dignitaries provided special benefits to beneficiaries of various schemes including Vahali Dikri Yojana, Widow Pension Scheme, Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme and Mahila Swalamban Yojana etc. under their respective schemes. The 7th National Nutrition Month 2024 will focus on the themes – Anaemia, Growth Monitoring, Supplementary Nutrition, Nutrition Bhi Padhai Bhi, Technology for Better Governance and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
9 India gets fifth medal in Paris Paralympics, shooter Rubina Francis wins bronze
Women’s shooter Rubina Francis won the bronze medal in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol (SH1) at the Paris Paralympics . Rubina Francis scored 211.1 points in the final match. India’s medal tally at the Paris Paralympics 2024 has now increased to five. India has so far won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
10 India won four medals including one gold, two silver and one bronze in the Deaf Shooting Championship
India has won a total of four medals including one gold, two silver and one bronze in the Deaf Shooting Championship in Hanover, Germany . Anuya Prasad won gold in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event. Abhinav Deswal won silver in the men’s 10 meter air pistol event. The trio of Abhinav Deswal, Shubham Vashisht and Chetan Sapkal won the silver medal in the men’s 10 meter air pistol event. Shubham Vashisht won bronze in the men’s 10 meter air pistol. 69 athletes from 16 countries are participating in this competition.
11 Aarti won the bronze medal in the 10,000-meter walk event at the World Under-20 Athletics Championships
Aarti of India has won the bronze medal in the women’s 10,000 meter walk event at the World Under-20 Athletics Championship in Lima , the capital of Peru . She won this medal with a national under-20 record time . Aarti finished third with 44 minutes 39.39 seconds . Aarti broke her previous national record of 47 minutes 21.04 seconds. Zhuoma Baima of China won the gold and Meiling Chen won the silver medal.
