Jharkhand High Court

Anurag Kumar, a resident of Ranchi, has filed a Public Interest Litigation in the Jharkhand High Court.

According to the PIL filed through Advocate Ayushi Aggarwal, the Jharkhand Excise Rule, liquor shops cannot be opened within 100 meters of temples, mosques, gurudwaras and educational institutions.

But the license to open a bar can be given and the bar can also be operated, which is a violation of the order of the Supreme Court.

In the PIL, the example of one Bar located at Kadru Road, Ranchi has been given.

The applicant has said that Bar is situated right next to the Shiva temple. The bar is being operated next to the Shiva temple even in the month of Sawan, which is hurting the faith of people who believe in Hinduism.
