How to Download NVS Recruitment Admit Card:​

  • Visit the official site of NVS at navodaya.gov.in.
  • Click on the link NVS Admit Card available on the latest news section ticker.

Important instructions for NVS Recruitment:​


a. The candidate must bring this E-Admit Card at the Examination Centre. No candidate will be allowed entry without E-Admit Card. The candidate is also required to bring one of the photo identification cards in the original viz. voter Identity Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, Aadhar Card along with the E-Admit Card.

b. The identity of the candidate will be matched from the original proof. In case your E-Admit Card is without a photograph, candidates are advised to bring two recent passport size photographs in the examination center (same as uploaded in the online application).

c. The candidate is required to reach/report the examination center strictly as per the date & reporting time mentioned in the E-Admit Card so that entry formalities i.e., Biometric Registration by capturing thumb impression, Webcam Photograph, Physical Frisking, Photo-matching with ID Proof, etc., can be done smoothly. FOr Bio-metric registration of the candidate, it is advised not to apply any external materials on their hand/feet like Mehandi, ink, etc.

d. The main gate will be closed before half an hour from the commencement of the test. No late coming is allowed.

e. Candidates are not allowed to bring any electronic gadgets such as Cell phone, Bluetooth, electronic diaries or any other electronic devices with memory or listening devices and recording or photographic device, wristwatches, wristwatch phones, pagers, pen scanners or multimedia devices or any other communication devices even in switch off mode including handbags, ornaments, documents/papers inside the examination room/hall.

NVS will not make any provision to keep them in safe custody and candidates themselves are responsible for the safety of their belongings. Any candidate who is found with the banned items, copying, receiving, giving assistance or using any unfair means during the exam will be disqualified and NVS will not be responsible for the cancellation of candidature at any stage of the recruitment process.

NVS Recruitment Exam Pattern

a. Each question will carry 1 mark and there is no penalty for the wrong answer. No marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions. The question paper will be bilingual I.e. English and Hindi only. However, in case of any error/variation in Hindi, the English version of the question shall be valid.

b. According to the notice published on the official website, the admit cards will be made available on the NVS website – and . Only the E-Admit Card link will be sent at the registered e-mail IDs of the candidates. Candidates should note that no separate admit card will be issued through the post.

c. Non-receipt of E-Admit Card/Discrepancies, if any, in E-Admit Card should be reported to NVS Toll-Free Help Desk No. 18002667074 and email id: navodayavidyalayahelpdesk@gmail.com on or after September 6, 2019, for addressing grievances.

d. In case of any discrepancy w.r.t. name, date of birth, photograph, signature, category, sub-category, etc. mentioned in the E-Admit Card or any admit card related query is not resolved, including non-receipt of admit card through email such candidates are advised to personally report to facilitation centers to be made operational in the cities (details of facilitation centers will be displayed in the NVS website subsequently) on September 15, 2019, between 10:00, am to 02:00 pm. Candidates may remain in constant touch with NVS websites – & designated recruitment portal for further latest updates in this matter.

Schedule of examination (CBT) for the post of Miscellaneous Category of Teachers (Art Teacher, Music Teacher, Librarian, PET – Male & PET – Female) will be intimated/uploaded separately in due course by the NVS.

The Navodaya Vidyalaya PGT exam consists of objective type questions for General English and Hindi (20+20), General Awareness (30), General Intelligence, Numerical Ability & Reasoning (30), Teaching Aptitude (20) and concerned subject knowledge (60). The difficulty level of the question papers for PGTs will be of Post Graduation standard.

Candidates can check the complete schedule through the table given on the official website. Navodaya Vidyalaya Principal Exam will consist of 180 questions from Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, Language test, Academics (Educational aspects) and Administration & Finance. The duration of both the test will be 3 hours.

Selection Process:​


Candidates will be selected based on written examination & interview. (a) Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in written examination and interviews put together. The Samiti reserves the right to decide the cut-off marks in written examination and interview separately. The decision of the Samiti about the mode of selection to the above posts and eligibility conditions of the applicants for the interview shall be final and binding.

No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. However, in the case of TGTs, Miscellaneous Teachers (Librarian) and TGTs (III Language), the selection to the post will be done on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the written examination only. However, the mode of selection whichever so for all the above posts will be the sole discretion of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and may be changed

(b) The Written Examination for the recruitment of the above-mentioned posts is likely to be held in the following 42 cities. However, the Samiti has the right to conduct the written test at all the cities or any one of the cities depending upon the number of candidates and other compulsions. A number of centers in each city will depend upon the number of candidates opting for a city. The center for the written examination for the post of Assistant Commissioner and Principal will be at Delhi Only.

(c) Persons with disability of 40% or more, if so desires, will have to bring their own scribe to assist them in the examination. There is no restriction with regard to educational qualification or age etc. for the scribe. Compensatory time to be allowed in this case is 20 minutes per hour of examination. All candidates with disabilities not availing the facility of the scribe may be allowed additional time of minimum of one hour for the examination of three hours duration. In the case of PGTs, TGTs, Miscellaneous and TGTs (Third Language) 50 minutes additional time will be allowed since the duration of the written exam is 2 ½ hours.

Reservation for a person with disabilities in r/o the current year vacancies will be given as per the Govt. rules. However, posts are identified suitable for persons with disabilities will be as per O.M.No.16-15/2010-DD-III dated 29.7.2013 by Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. (d) No candidate will be admitted for the written examination without the proper Admit Card.

Candidates are required to check the Samiti’s website from time to time. Taking into account the performance of both written examination and interview, merit list will be prepared in case of Assistant Commissioners, Principals, PGTs and Miscellaneous Teacher(Art, Music, PET).
