All schools in Noida and Greater Noida, which fall in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, will remain closed tomorrow (August 31) in wake of the annual Dronacharya Mela which is scheduled to be held in the area.
An order to this effect was issued by Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate (DM) Manish Kumar Verma on Friday, stating that all government and private schools, from Nursery to Class 12th, in the district will remain shut on August 31 (Saturday) in view of the Dronacharya Mela.
As per the order, the decision was taken in view of the annual Dronacharya Mela which will be organized in the district on Saturday.
“The decision has has been taken keeping in mind the interest of the school children. Schools have also been directed to inform parents that there will be no additional classes or practice sessions on August 31,” DM Verma said in the order.
Following the order, all schools in the district have begun sharing the information with the parents/wards of students via text messages and other means of communication.

Meanwhile, all state-run schools will remain closed in the remaining 67 districts of Uttar Pradesh in wake of the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination, which is being held on August 30 and 31.
The exam will be held in two shifts – 10 am to 12 noon in first shift and 3 pm to 5 pm in second shift.
All top schools in Noida, such as Lotus Valley International School, The Shriram Millennium School, Cambridge School Noida, Amity International School, Kothari International School, the Sapphire International School, the G.D Goenka Global School, among others will remain closed on August 31.
DM said the closure of schools has been ordered keeping in mind the safety and convenience of students as well as to ensure that there is no hindrance in the conduct of the police recruitment exam and the fair.
