No field posting for 14 years, 9 months without work: Meet IAS Officer Neha Marvya, whose career has been marked by controversy due to..

An IAS officers’ meeting is currently underway in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. During this meeting, a female IAS officer, Neha Marvya, raised questions about the system. During the meeting, which reportedly commenced on December 20, Marvya stated that in her 14 years of service, she had never been given a field posting. She voiced her concerns in a WhatsApp group that included other IAS officers. The meeting, conducted for young and retired IAS officers and their families, provided a platform for Neha Marwya to openly express her frustrations during the event. But who is Neha Marvya? Know more details here.

Neha Marvya is an IAS officer of the 2011 batch. She is famously known for standing firm in her decisions. Her name has been associated with many controversies. According to the media reports, she was investigating the Aajeevika scheme when senior officers pressured her to protect the wrongdoers. Later, Neha was transferred to another department.

Expressing her frustration, IAS officer Neha Marwya stated in the IAS Officers Association WhatsApp group that she has been in the IAS for 14 years but has never been posted in the field, according to a report by Navbharat Times. She questioned how her career as an IAS officer could be balanced in such a situation.

An IAS officer had shared a concept note on the WhatsApp group, suggesting that a direct recruitment IAS officer should be assigned a 4-year tenure as a collector within 14 years, the report added. This would offer valuable field experience and insight into the state’s cultural, social, and political dynamics, ultimately aiding in addressing state issues in the future. In response, another young officer sought opinions from the group members, to which Neha Marwya replied.

Furthermore, Marvya wrote that it deeply saddens her when this issue is discussed. She shared that in 14 years, she has never been posted in the field. Instead, she was assigned as Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department for three and a half years and then transferred to the Revenue Department as Deputy Secretary for two and a half years with no work. For the past nine months, she has had no work at all. She expressed feeling as if she had been confined within walls.
