ALIGARH : Prof Salman Hameed, Department of Electrical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as member-in-Charge, Department of Electricity for a period of two years or till further orders, with immediate effect.
Engaged in teaching and research for over 33 years, Prof Hameed has published more than 35 research papers in the journals of national and international repute and presented papers in about 40 conferences and seminars held in India and abroad.
He has one patent to his credit and has contributed three book chapters.
He has been a member to various academic bodies including the Senior Member, Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) (U.S.A.), Member, Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) (U.K.), Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Life Member of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Life Member/ Fellow of Institutions of Engineers (IE) and Life Member, Systems Society of India.
He is presently the Coordinator, B.E. (Evening Courses), and has served as the member AMU Court and Chairman of the department from 2020-23.
